Long Beach, California producer UNDOCUMENT has set a peculiar goal for his eighteen track release Pleasures that most other artists would probably take for granted: write music that people pay attention to.

“With my second album, I really wanted to break out of the mindset of ‘background music’ and do it a little more traditionally this time. I just wanted to put all these new songs front and center.”

Setting aside the theme of “furniture music” that tied together 2012’s sweeping For Lovers, Dreamers & Non-Believers (which indie blog Sergeant Sparrow said had “…an earthy and dream like atmosphere much in the way of Air, or Explosions In The Sky” and acclaimed zine Santanero mentioned was “…soothing,[…] soul-ly and thumpy”), UNDOCUMENT decided to write songs that sit closer to the spotlight, instead of behind a conversation or a good book.

And that’s exactly what he’s done. With nearly twenty tracks, Pleasures is over an hour of thick bass lines, delay-laden acoustic guitars, arpeggiated synths, and otherworldly drones that expand the definition of what makes up the genre of ‘electronic’ music.

But the demandingly dancey “Pulses”, the dark infectious jam “Slumberous”, or the epic album closer “Eastern” are only a fraction of the varied musical directions that Pleasures takes; what really sets UNDOCUMENT’s newest release apart is the much lauded inclusion of guest vocalist Maqui Sainz, the talented vocalist / producer who lends her beautifully plaintive vocals to album cornerstone “This Lullaby”.

Similar artists like Tycho or Com Truise, as well as more established inspirations like Flying Lotus and even Radiohead, have seeped into the consciousness of Pleasures, representing themselves in various ways: A subtle recurring piano melody, a spacious driving beat, or even a detuned choir sample that altogether make the album an emotional and accessible listen.

In addition to putting the final touches on Pleasures, UNDOCUMENT has been following up on a variety of opportunities, such as his extended two hour in-studio live set at KUCI 88.9 FM, an experience that garnered new fans and more exposure, as well as working on Saumene Mehrdady’s 2013 short film Vitamin D, which gained much praise for its buzzy and brooding soundtrack.

Now with Pleasures putting UNDOCUMENT back into the spotlight, he’s ready to work on some updated goals: composing, collaborations, live shows, and, of course, keeping his focus on writing new music.

Emily Browne

11838729_961934687205678_1515740880860799479_oBorn in England in 1985, Emily Browne’s musical journey began as a school-age clarinettist and drummer, and it is only in recent years that she has found her true calling as a guitarist and singer/songwriter. Indeed, it was not until 2009 that she first stepped out into the gigging scene of her native Warwickshire as part of guitar-bass duo “Brownian Motion.”

Since then, Emily has played well-received acoustic sets across the Midlands and around the country, while expanding her musical range in the studio. With the release of her debut EP – “Brownian Motion” – in 2012 Emily Browne showed what she could do with her own band. In 2014 she started rehearsing and recording her debut album with a brand new band of talented musicians at Vale Studios. The album has just been mastered at Abbey Road and official release for CD and download is on the 23rd September 2015 through independent label – Emily Browne Music.

Emily’s broad slate of influences – including Gomez, Turin Brakes, Reef, John Martyn and Joan Armatrading – makes the pigeon-holing of Emily Browne’s music an exercise fraught with the risk of misunderstanding. That said, while her work can be placed into a broader female vocal category alongside such contemporary singers as Lianne La Havas and Anna Calvi, Emily’s voice itself carries more than a suspicion of classic British female singers like Sandy Denny.

Her musical style is an eclectic mix of Funk, Rock, Jazz and Folk and combines with her very distinct voice to create a heady musical cocktail indeed!

Ghosts of Social Networks are a 3 piece Indie Rock from Manchester, Brum and London. They
sound like the love child of The National, Nick Cave, Radiohead, and early New Wave.

‘Comeback Kid’ is the second single by the sublime Manchester 3-pieceGhosts of Social Networks. Written in the form of a modern fairy tale, the story of two lovers fleeing from an oppressive regime, ‘Comeback Kid’ follows the band’s debut single ‘Love Potion’ which received great support from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music and several Triple-A stations in the USA, a live session on Fubar Radio and playlisting at Amazing Radio.
