The Magick Otters
Mind altering Dream Rock from The Magick Otters. Debut album Escape From The Problem Attic
now available on iTunes and other leading digital outlets. The Otters formed in 1989 with original members Steven Young (Big White Stairs/Sylvain/Breaking/Haly Saint), Stephen Malkin (Big White Stairs/The Long Time Coming), Joe Kover and Fil Hill (Hot Bananas/Chinese Marbles) – Various musicians have joined the band for live performances. The band have recorded over 150 tracks over the last 20 years, and have remained a truly underground psychedelic concern. The band had consciously evaded live performance for many years, until the first full length show was performed in December 2007, to an unsuspecting and bewildered crowd! The Magick Otters debut album is now available on itunes.
Katie Mac is a singer-songwriter based in Huyton, Liverpool. In October 2016 Katie released her first EP and since then has done a full band UK tour with more dates announced for 2017. Being an active musician for the last couple of years, Katie has taken part in all her local festivals such as Liverpool Sound City and LIMF. She has gained the support of BBC Introducing on numerous occasions and also had her first national plays on BBC Radio 6 music. In 2016 she headlined her first London based festival, and also supported Shilpa Ray on her only UK date.
We Signal Fire
We Signal Fire are an Alt Rock four piece based in Manchester. Drawing on a diverse range of influences, the band combine melodic, driving riffs with anthemic choruses and heartfelt lyrics. We Signal Fire’s music is uplifting, energetic and exciting, three traits they also bring to their live show.
Formed in October 2013, Pete (vocals/guitar), Chris (bass) and Martin’s (drums) combined musical experience and natural chemistry meant that the band already sounded like they had been playing together for years rather than months. With the addition of Chloe on additional lead vocals in May 2014 and JB taking over bass duties in May 2015, the band are sounding as vibrant and relevant as ever. With their debut EP ‘Young Blood’ recorded at Edge Studios with Mark Winterburn (Plan B, Nine Black Alps) and released at a 600 capacity sold out show in October 2014. An impressive debut. The band are now working on the follow up to ‘Young Blood’, with the band self producing the new release, this will follow on from a new single released in September 2015. The next year will be the start of something very special indeed.
Working from a converted barn attic, The Gracies are very much a home-grown outfit with a dedicated passion for creating original music. The band draws influence from all corners of the musical spectrum producing a sound that hovers somewhere between indie rock and RnB with undertones of soul/hip hop. Originally formed in 2010 the band have been steadily building a local fan base in and around the northwest. After two previous EP releases in 2010 (Revival of Trade) and 2012 (The Gracies E.P), and a quiet 2014 in the studio, the band are now set to release their debut album ‘Make The Change’ in early 2015.
The Mantells are a 3-Piece band from Manchester formed in January 2014 made up of Tom Barrow with brothers Dale and Lewis Moran. Their first demo EP ‘How To Say It’ gave us 4 tracks in early 2014 to show us what these lads could do, if you missed that check it out on the YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/Mantellsmusic
The lads decided to do a free entry gig at The Castle Hotel in Manchester to celebrate the release of the first EP, which resulted in people lining the corridors of the pub to listen after the room exceeded capacity.
