Happy birthday Artistic Echoes. I love what you do and I love being associated with you. I host two radio hour-long radio shows in Los Angeles, Music Friday Live! and MusicaFusionLA. Music FridayLive! interviews 2 bands/artists a week live on the Blogtalkradio.com network. Fans can call in and talk with the guests or email questions.
The show is syndicated on terrestrial radio stations in the US and of course on the Artistic Echoes Network. We interview bands from all genres – rock, hip-hop, country, jazz – everything but classical (you can’t dance to it unless you are a ballerina, which I am not). MusicaFusionLA, which airs from once a week to once a month depending on guests, interviews one band/artist for an hour in Spanish and English. My co-host, Diana Carolina of Gypset Magazine, and I focus on mostly Southern California-based fusion bands – ones that combine Latino and gringo music forms to produce Chicano rock, Banda blues, son jarocho hip hop, salsa jazz and all of the other combinations from north and south of the border.I am also a music critic, a member of the Los Angeles Music Critic organization, and review albums and shows and interview artists every week for publications in the US and Artistic Echoes.
This is a second career for me; I was a college professor teaching political science at Georgia Tech (and spent 4 summers teaching at Worchester College at Oxford). I have also produced some television, including an Emmy-winning series for the UN on population and development and women’s rights that aired in the 90’s on CNN, the BBC and other networks in Europe and the Middle East.
