How have you been coping with the lockdown, have you still managed to be creative?
This period actually made me super creative. I am writing a lot of new material and working on new skills like mixing, producing, videos and social media.
What inspired you to start the solo project Solar Parachute?
Solar Parachute was more like a studio project at the start. I have a musical background, I’ve played music professionally since I was fifteen, always divided my time between session work and creative projects with bands. Even if I am naturally a social person and I love to collaborate with others, I also always wrote stuff on my own. At some point, I just decided to put those songs into a project and give this material a chance. So, I came up with a first EP. That’s how I started it. It’s a solo project but on stage, I am happy to have my friends with me to play.
Which artists or albums have stuck with you and influenced your style?
The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Blood Red Shoes, Jack White, Keziah Jones, Bloc Party, Bjork, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Tame Impala, Royal Blood, Louis Cole.

Could you tell us a bit about the writing/recording of your track Can’t Help Myself?
The idea was determination – about the need to keep going and, seeing the positive aspect in every situation. I thought of the lyrics while I was doing my run so the idea for the video was a natural progression.
Everything was recorded at my home except for the drums that were recorded at Hicaz Studio London. The Mix was done by Darren Carikas.
Do you have any plans to release an EP or album?
Yes, I am currently working on my next album – it’s almost ready. It should be out this autumn. In the meantime, two new singles will be released. Also, since the lockdown started I’ve been releasing short funny songs on social media every week. They’re 1-minute creations.
Here at Artistic Echoes, we are always on the lookout for new artists do you have anyone to recommend?
Black Palms is a great new band with a very cool touch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OB3rvbppEk
What plans do you have for the rest of the year?
Getting ready to gig out with this project as soon as it’s safe and the lockdown laws ease! And, sharing joy and good energy with people through music and if possible, make the world just a bit more peaceful with it, that would make me happy.
