From singing in church in her hometown of Miami, Fla., to travelling the world as part of the Blues Revival Movement, Kat Riggins is a force of nature onstage and off. Diminutive in stature and huge in voice and talent, she is a one-woman ambassador of the blues to the world, demonstrating what she calls the “the raw emotion in every note”. Backed by a dynamic band – guitarist Darrell Raines, drummer Doc Allison and bassman George Caldwell – it is no wonder her shows are sell-outs no matter what country she plays in. Her current style is blues mixes, assembled with influence from hip hop, pop, rock and country. Growing up, her family played blues greats like Koko Taylor, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and she merged their influence with her talent into a style unique in the blues world, maintained through seven albums and EP’s. She released her first EP Seoul Music, a compilation of blues covers, during a 2011 Asia tour; wrote original songs for Lily Rose released in 2014, and wrote all but two songs on Blues Revival and has now gifted fans with her latest album, Cry Out..
