Review: Mili & Bertie – “Into the Night”

Mili & Bertie are a duo hailing from Berkshire, England that are sending awesome Bluesy Country-Pop waves across the pond.  With their latest EP, Into the Night, Mili & Bertie are gifting their fans with five tracks that lyrically illustrate the varied emotions that come from being captivated by someone.  The title track justifiably spells out this pure attraction with solid harmonies, jittery guitars, and a melodramatic blend of Country-Pop and Blues on a different level.  Unlike other romantic songs, “Into the Night” is very percussive with its quick tempo and expressive lyrical executions from both Mili and Bertie.  Rather than giving off that homesick vibe, Mili and Bertie’s voices compliment each other very well by being both mannered and raw.  This playable track, featuring Baz Warne, has a storyline that is taken from the point of view of both partners, thus showing the depths one’s love will go to express righteous love.  Mili & Bertie sums up three words in 4-minutes: A RELATABLE ROMANCE!
