Review: Jenna Isn’t Famous – “Too Romantic”

How do you tell someone that you are into them, but you do not want to show your vulnerability?  You want to keep the friendship that created the whole chemistry intact, but you are ready to move up to “plus-1” status without jamming up things? You put it into a song.  Yup! A song.  And best believe it, the entire music industry has relied on this approach. So, yes, it gets the message out there, but what gets THAT point across and makes it stick? It is being able to write the song with so much emotion and so much gumption, and so much smokin music, that it is memorable, and tattooed onto the brain. That is what Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Jenna Isn’t Famous did with her latest cut “Too Romantic.”

The Alternative Pop track is seductively potent with honesty.  The production of “Too Romantic” highlights the song’s soft strength where it plays in the ears in the same manner that rain hits glass – soft, but strong; powerful enough to get your attention but delicate enough to not shatter the glass.  Very string-driven, in terms of violins, guitars, and keys, this song plays on the heartstrings, yet it is not sappy. Jenna’s distinctive contralto vocals are elegant and energizing. Her register is both husky and sultry which complements the core instrumentation. In addition, the overall tempo of the track gives off an ebbing vibe which mirrors the way indecisive thoughts ebb and flow seeking confirmation and finalization.

To some listeners and critics, “Too Romantic” places Jenna Isn’t Famous neck to neck with her competitors, but I would say that she is already levels above her peers because she has that IT factor that will allow her to remain relevant – that is TALENT!!
