For those people that haven’t heard of you could you tell us a bit about yourself, your story?
My name is Felix Saunders I am a chaos merchant from the Western isles that writes sad songs for sad people and occasionally depress people live
Who inspired you to get on stage and perform?
One key moment that inspired me was the first time I attended HebCelt Festival I was transfixed watching these people play music that I didn’t think I liked but it blew me away
Are there any particular artists or albums that have stuck with you and influenced your sound?
I love a lot of different music but I have taken a lot influence from the likes of Elliott Smith, Death Cab for Cutie, James Edwyn and The Borrowed Band and the local legend that is Willie Campbell, but I am not sure what else to tell you dude I just love music and I like what I like
Do you have any songwriting rituals?
No rituals, seems a bit of artistry overkill to be honest with you
I wrote Fool That I am after stumbling into a stupid situation and trying to fix and made it worse, I think of it as the stupid domestic arguments people have over nothing but fight really hard over
I loved recording this I recorded it at Black Bay Studio in the western isles, Pete Fletcher is a fantastic producer and super chill guy his son Sim played all the keys and the drums on the song really talented kid
Do you have any plans for a new EP or album coming up?
I am planning to release a next EP Misfit this year but it’s all still a bit up in the air at the moment
What are some of your favourite venues to perform at?
I am not very sentential when it comes to venues, they change so often you stop thinking about it

Scott C Park is by far one of my favourite songwriters his songs are just fantastic and lyrical superior
Nicky Murray is another fantastic songwriter who seems to be just hiding under the radar but has a beautiful voice and the way he makes his guitar sing is mind-blowing
Pete Smith is another songwriter that needs praise he represents a minority of songwriters in Scotland that talks about the more uncomfortable side of Scottish life that is often avoided by others
I could keep going but we will be here all day so I do a shout out list Tove, Charlie Clark, Lapse, Clarke and the himselfs, Jodie Rae, Astrid, James Edwyn and The Borrowed Band
What plans do you have for the rest of the year?
Plans? Plans? I just kind have things happen I live in constant calm chaos there will be more to come this year but what is to come I have no idea
