For those people who haven’t heard of you before, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a pop/soul/rock singer-songwriter that has several solo albums. I just released my first singles with my all-girl band ‘Laura Cheadle + The Girls’ We advocate for women and the LGBTQ+ community and are currently on a national tour! I am an official sponsored artist with Traveler Guitar.
I have opened for/shared the stage with The Jonas Brothers, Sister Hazel, The Spin Doctors, Average White Band, Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals, Kasim Sultan, John Oates/Hall and Oates, Terrance Simien, Peter Tork of The MONKEES, Garland Jeffreys, Constantine Maroulis, Ryan Cabrera, Derek Forbes, The Stars From The Commitments, John Sebastian, Marc Broussard, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, and many more.
Who inspired you to get on stage and perform?
I like to say that I came out of the womb singing. I come from a very musical family and my dad is a Philadelphia legend in the music industry. I grew up with famous musicians in my basement. I know this life was amazing and I am so grateful to have the gift of singing in me.
What are some of the artists/albums that have stuck with you and inspired your sound?
I love Alabama Shakes so much. I truly am manifesting to open for them someday! I also love The Black Keys! I am a huge fan of soulful sounds with rock influence.
Where do you write your music? Are you someone who is always coming up with song ideas?
I don’t have a specific way of writing because sometimes I’ll have lyrics in my head and immediately write it down or I’ll have a melody in my mind for a year or so and then finally finish it. There’s no technical way about it and I love that it always comes from the soul.
Please tell us about the ReverbNation winning track “Air Gets Tight”?
I am so excited! This is my first single with my all-girl band ‘Laura Cheadle + The Girls’ I wrote this song about finding someone who takes away all the anxieties of life. This is a crowd favorite when we play it live!
What has been your favorite experience as a musician?
Touring on the road! I live for meeting new people at every stop and connecting. We recently performed for thousands of people at Philly Pride and it was the biggest rush in the world!
Do you have any plans to release an EP or an album?
Yes! I currently have 3 singles out with Laura Cheadle + The Girls and our EP will soon follow! You can find all the songs on Spotify or everywhere you stream your music under ‘Laura Cheadle + The Girls’
What is the most memorable place you have performed?
I would say our very recent show at Philly Pride Festival. There were thousands of people screaming and enjoying our joyful music.
