For those people who haven’t heard of TWOFEW before, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
TWOFEW is a piano-fronted family rock band from Phoenix, Arizona. We blend rock, soul and blues with honest storytelling, powerful vocals and plenty of raw energy. At the heart of it, we’re a family making music about love, struggle, hope, redemption, life and the real moments that connect us all.
Who inspired you to get on stage and perform?
Our family inspired us to get on stage and perform. Music has always brought us closer, and once we felt that connection with a live audience, we knew it was where we belonged. There’s nothing like sharing something honest and seeing people connect with it in real time.
What are some of the artists/albums that have stuck with you and inspired your sound?
The Fray’s self-titled album, Billy Joel’s The Stranger, Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Audioslave’s debut album have all stayed with us over the years. We’ve always connected with strong piano melodies, honest lyrics, powerful vocals and songs that carry real emotion. Each of those records brings something different, and that mix has helped shape the sound we’re creating with TWOFEW.
Where do you write your music? Are you someone who is always coming up with song ideas?
Michael-Jon, our vocalist and keyboardist, is the primary songwriter and arranger, and he’s almost always working through new ideas. We also have a fully equipped recording and rehearsal studio in Phoenix, where the whole band can experiment, build out arrangements and shape new songs together.

Please tell us about the ReverbNation Competition winning track, “We Were Loud”?
“We Were Loud” is one of those songs that really captures who we are. It’s about looking back on youth, friendship and those fearless nights that seemed ordinary at the time but became unforgettable later. Winning the ReverbNation competition with it was a huge honor and showed us how strongly the song connected with listeners.
The new animated music video for it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhFqUoGj2bQ) gives the track a completely different dimension. It takes the band through time portals, alternate realities and an ever-changing multiverse, with the animation shifting between bold, nostalgic and darker visual styles. It feels like a fresh chapter for the song while staying true to its original heart.
What has been your favourite experience as a musician?
Playing larger shows for appreciative crowds has been one of our favorite experiences as musicians. Our performances at the Whisky A Go Go really stand out because there’s such a special energy in the room. Hearing people respond to the songs, sing along and connect with what we’re doing makes every rehearsal and long night worthwhile.
Do you have any plans to release an EP or an album?
Yes, we’re currently wrapping up the recording and production of our third studio album, “Happenstance,” which is set for release later this year. We’re excited to share this next chapter of TWOFEW and let people hear how our sound has continued to grow.

What is the most memorable place you have performed?
The Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood has been our most memorable place to perform. Playing a sold-out show at such an iconic venue, alongside Strawberry Alarm Clock, was an incredible experience. The history, energy and connection with the crowd made it a night we’ll never forget.
Here at Artistic Echoes, we are always on the lookout for new artists. Do you have any to recommend?
We’d definitely recommend Sanchos (https://www.sanchosband.com), an Arizona desert reggae band with a great sound and energy. Our producer, Chris Lawrie, plays guitar and sings backing vocals with them, so we’ve seen firsthand how much talent and passion goes into their music. They’re absolutely worth checking out.
What plans do you have for the rest of the year?
We’ve got a busy rest of the year ahead. We’ll kick off our fall tour with Trapt and Sygnal To Noise on September 16, 2026, at The 44 Sports Grill & Nightlife in Glendale, Arizona:
We’ll then return to the legendary Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood on September 26, 2026, for a co-headlining show with Trapt:
