The Echoes – Best Fusion Song: Héroe by Francisca Valenzuela

Born in San Francisco, CA, raised in Chile and now living in Los Angeles, Valenzuela is a multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter, clothing designer (with her own line of clothes in Latin America), poet, feminist activist and founder of the music festival Ruidosa.  She writes and sings in Spanish and English and her latest release Héroe combines rock, a little reggaeton, and poetry in a shout out to the power we all have within us.  Although the lyrics are Spanish, the song is squarely in the rock world, fusing North American rock with Latin storytelling.   As of this month has drawn over 500,000 streams on Spotify.  She has both Gold and Platinum certification in Chile.
