The 2019 Echoes Award for Pop Artist Of The Year goes to The Como Brothers, Matt and Andrew Como, brothers who grew up in a musical family, in a small suburb on Long Island, New York. Andrew began his musical talents in elementary school, where he played alto sax and guitar and Matthew followed, playing guitar and bass guitar from elementary school through high school. Their father and uncle started a Beatles tribute band – Andrew was George Harrison, Matthew was John Lennon, their father was Ringo Starr, and their uncle was Paul McCartney. The songs and style of the Beatles would have a lasting impact on Matt and Andrew as they composed their own songs later in their musical career.
They released EPs in 2010 and 2012, not yet billed as The Como Brothers, and in 2015, they added drummer Steve Jordan, and keyboardist Andy Burton. This was the beginning of The Como Brothers Band and the release of their Imagination EP, that was recorded at Germano Studios in New York City.
In 2018, The Como Brothers began releasing singles “On It”, featuring Sam Wolf, “Magic”, and “First Time.” And continued releasing singles in 2019 with “Diamonds On My Chain”, “One And Only”, “Money” and “Take Me Home”.
The brothers have toured the east coast extensively and now have thousands of fans. They plan to continue to release singles in 2020. We are proud to recognize The Como Brothers for their relatable lyrics, infectious melodies and energetic live shows.
