For those people that haven’t heard of you could you tell us a bit about yourself, your story?
Well, my name is Alysha, I am 18 years old and I’m a singer-songwriter from London. I’ve always loved music since I was really young, like my mum would play music around the house all the time and I just loved it so much that by the time I was 10, I had a piano, guitar, drums and singing lessons and I was writing my very first songs. since then, I’ve just focused on my singing and songwriting and have been working with different producers and songwriters.
Who inspired you to get on stage and perform?
I would have to say it’s Joss Stone. my mum would play her music A LOT and we would watch all her performances.
Are there any particular artists or albums that have stuck with you and inspired you?
Yes, Amy Winehouse. she is a very big inspiration to me. she was another artist that my mum would play a lot around the house. another inspiration of mine is Erykah Badu. whenever I listen to an Erykah Badu track, I’m always like “damn, I wish I made that” and I assume everyone else thinks the same

Could you tell us a bit about the writing/recording of the ReverbNation winning track David Attenborough?
Sure. when I first started writing it, I didn’t know which direction I wanted to go in until Aka Block (the producer of the track) started playing a drum beat loop which I thought was really cool. about a few minutes later, my pianist, Dray was just messing around on the e-piano in the back of the room and block recorded the whole thing without him knowing and I liked the beat and chords so much that I wrote “David Attenborough” over it.
How has the reception been to your latest Ep Midnight Rendezvous?
Fortunately, I’ve gotten lots of positive feedback and my streams on Spotify went up by thousands after just one week of releasing the ep.
What’s the most interesting venue you have performed at?
I just recently performed at Topshop in oxford circus and there were so many people. during our soundcheck, flocks of people came rushing into the store to film and watch us which is crazy because I haven’t had that before but I really enjoyed it and the overall experience was really cool. I would definitely want to play there again.
What do you think is missing from today’s music industry?
I think there is a lot of new genres and sounds at the moment which is really cool and all but I would love if music would go back to the older kinda stuff with a modern twist.
Here at Artistic Echoes, we are always on the lookout for new artists do you have anyone to recommend?
Yes, I have just found this song called “Icarus” by Fana Hues and I’m obsessed, I’ve shown it to my mum and now she’s obsessed too.
What plans do you have for the rest of the year?
My plans are to work with new producers, writers, etc. and just work on new music.
