123 Andres! the Latin Grammy winning duo: new album and book, “Hola Amigos”

123 Andrés! are the Latin Grammy-winning duo Christina Sanabria and Andrés Salguero, a kids’ music power couple that, pre-COVID, travelled non-stop bringing their message to audiences across the US and Latin America with songs in Spanish and English. Ten years ago, Andrés was a recent immigrant to the United States from Columbia, trying to process experiences that he encountered in daily life.  Andres converted his feelings about the challenges of a new culture into a song, which he and Christina expanded into a Latin Grammy-winning album and a bilingual book with Scholastic to bring bi-lingual friendship to children everywhere. Growing up in Bogata, Andres learned how to play the guitar from his father at an early age, had his first studio experience at age 8, and earned a Doctorate in music while winning the National Music Composition Contest in Colombia.  Christina grew up in the Midwest in a Spanish-speaking immigrant family from Colombia. Her mom signed her up for theatre and dance as a child and started a love of the stage. After college, she worked in the classroom as a public school teacher while she earned a Masters in Education. When she joined 123 Andrés, she found her calling teaching through music, bringing an American accent and a feminine sparkle and smile to the couples’ high energy videos and songs.
