“Medusa” is a song by UK based Soul/R&B band Lyra. The first thing that I noticed when I played the song is that there are real instruments and vocals. Yes. Finally!!! Real instruments and vocals!!! OMG! Nice. Very nice.
The lyrical message of “Medusa” is that playing with fire may burn but it’s so worth it (so to speak) – it’s living life to the fullest regardless of the circumstance or repercussions. This storyline is brought to life with the lead’s seductive, laissez-faire vocal approach. Honestly, if silk could sing, this is what it would sound like.

And do not sleep on the musicians behind the message. Lyra is fully housed with experts on the percussions, guitars, and synths.
In addition, the break that happens at the 1:48 mark is spot on as well as the bridge at the 2:14 mark which is so euphoric – it totally gives one a mental escape.
Totally Soulful at its core, “Medusa” is framed in luscious Pop instrumentation along with a lit bottom. Its entire production makes the listener want to live on the edge and “touch the sun and dream under the stars.”
